Title |
Microarray analysis of human cord blood derived mast cells (hCBMC) activated by Interleukin-33 (IL-33) |
Organism |
Homo sapiens |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by array
|
Summary |
Mast cells respond to acute and chronic exposure to IL-33 by differing the expression of their receptors, cytokines and proteases. We aim to characterize the distinct acute and chronic responses of mast cells to IL-33 by analyzing hCBMC expression profile of pro- and anti- inflammatory mediators.

Overall design |
CD34+ cells were isolated from human umbilical cord blood and differentiated into mast cells using rhIL-6 and rh-SCF for 6-8 weeks. hCBMCs were stimulated with 10 and 20 ng/mL of IL-33 for 6 and 24 hours each. Total RNA was extracted from hCBMCs and untreated controls and hybridized using Affymetrix Human Gene ST 1.0 arrays.
