Title |
Bulk RNA-seq of pericytes isolated from mouse brain and heart |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The goal of the experiment was to characterize the transcriptome of Pericytes from mouse brain and heart. Data were analyzed to examine the ion channels, exchangers and pumps that are enriched in pericytes

Overall design |
Pdgfr-β-CreERT2 transgenic mice (Jackson: 029684) were crossed with Ai14 reporter mice (Jackson #007914) that express tdTomato fluorescence following Cre-mediated recombination. Offspring were treated with tamoxifen, which led to robust tdTomato expression in pericytes. Pericytes were isolated by enzymatic digestion from the brains and hearts of 5 mice, subjected to cell sorting and bulk RNA-sequencing.
