Title |
Effects of fosfomycin on biofilm of a clinical Staphylococcus aureus isolated from osteoarticular infection by transcriptomal approach |
Organism |
Staphylococcus aureus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The aim of the present study was to investigate the mechanisms by which fosfomycin restrains biofilm formation and affects a 24h-old biofilm of S. aureus. RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) technology was used to compare the transcriptomes of S. aureus biofilms formed or treated with sublethal concentrations of fosfomycin.

Overall design |
Determination of the transcriptional profiling of S. aureus under 4 different experimental conditions. mRNA profiles were generated for bacteria under 4 hours-old biofilm formed with and without fosfomycin and 24 hours-old biofilm treated or not with fosfomycin for 24h, each in three biological replicates, by deep sequencing using Illumina HiSeq
