Mice were systemically sensitised via i.p. injection of 50 μg chicken egg OVA complexed with 1 mg Alhydrogel in PBS (day 0). Non-sensitized control mice were injected with 1 mg Alhydrogel in PBS. On days 12, 13, 14 and 15, all mice were challenged (i.n.) with 10 μg of OVA in PBS or PBS for non-challenged control mice. Endpoints were performed 24 hours after the last OVA challenge. Dexamethasone (DEX) treatments (3 mg/kg body weight, i.p.) were performed on day 11 and every second day thereafter 1 hour before challenges.
