RNA was extracted from liver tissues using Trizol and following manufacter’s manual instructions (Life Tecnologies, Carlsbad, CA). miRNA quantification was performed using the commercial kit Mir-X miRNA First-Strand Synthesis Kit doing as manufacter’s manual instructions (Takara Bio Europe/Clontech, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France).

Data processing |
Scanned images of microarray chips were analyzed using Expression Console (Affymetrix) with the default settings. Raw data were processed using different algorithms. Detected Above Background algorithm (DABD) and RMA Background Adjustment algorithm were performed in order to remove the background value.
