Cells were treated with TGF-β (R&D Systems #240-B) (10 ng/mL) or vehicle for 48h, and recombinant PDGF-BB (Sigma-Aldrich #P3201) (20 ng/mL), TGF-β (R&D Systems #240-B) (10 ng/mL) or vehicle for 2h.

Growth protocol |
Primary human HSCs (ScienCell Research Laboratories, #5300) were grown in DMEM (Life Technologies, #11965092) containing 10% fetal bovine serum FBS (Sigma-Aldrich #F4135) and 1% penicillin/streptomycin (Life Technologies, #15140122).All cell lines were maintained under standard tissue culture conditions (37 °C, 5% CO2 incubator).
