Treated daily (9:00 am) with MPTP hydrochloride (0.2 mg/kg, i.v., Sigma, St. Louis, MO) dissolved in saline. Sacrificed in ketamine anesthesia by sodium pentobarbital overdose

Growth protocol |
Animals were housed in individual primate cages under controlled conditions of humidity (50 F 5%), temperature (24 F 18C) and light (12h light/12h dark cycles, time lights on 8:00 am), food and water were available ad libitum and animal care was supervised by veterinarians skilled in the healthcare and maintenance of nonhuman primates. Experiments were carried out in accordance with European Communities Council Directive of 24 November 1986 (86/609/EEC) for care of laboratory animals.
