At the end of treatment, flies were anesthetized using CO2 and collected in Trizol.

Growth protocol |
30 adult virgin females (and unmated males) Oregon R flies per vial fed respective diet for 14 days at 25C temperature. Media vials changed after 7 days.

Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Affymetrix protocol from 250 ng total RNA (GeneChip 3’ IVT Express Kit).

Hybridization protocol |
Following fragmentation, 10 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip Drosophila Genome 2.0 Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 450.

GeneChips were scanned using the Affymetrix GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G.
