Sample GSM530236 Query DataSets for GSM530236
Status Public on Oct 16, 2011
Title fertile_donor3
Sample type SRA

Source name spermatozoa
Organism Homo sapiens
Characteristics tissue: Spermatozoa
Treatment protocol semen samples were frozen upon reception.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol samples were thawed and the sperm cells were separated from contaminants through a 50% Percoll cushion. The sperm cells were then processed for separate extraction of small (<200 b) and large (> 200b) RNA using Qiagen Rneasy kit

Library strategy ncRNA-Seq
Library source transcriptomic
Library selection size fractionation
Instrument model Illumina Genome Analyzer II

Data processing Alignment: Sequence reads obtained from Bustard (Illumina Genome Analyzer II) were mapped to the human (February, 2009) genome using Novoalign (2.05.33MT). Aligned sequence reads for each of the three samples were separated into two classes. Those reads mapping to a unique region on the genome were classified as Uniquely Mapped (UM). Sequence reads mapping to 2–10 locations were classified as Multiple Mapped (MM).
