Sample type |
RNA |
|
|
Source name |
Key biological rep 2
|
Organism |
Drosophila melanogaster |
Characteristics |
tissue: Whole fly strain: w1118 genotype: key1
|
Treatment protocol |
4-5 day old flies were placed in a fly vial with a cellulose plug at the bottom. 2mls of LB broth containing 10E8 V. cholerae per ml was added to the plug. Flies were allowed to ingest the LB mixture for 24 hours and then RNA was extracted
|
Growth protocol |
flies were raised in standard fly media at 24 degrees C prior to use in experiments
|
Extracted molecule |
total RNA |
Extraction protocol |
Flies were homogenized in Trizol reagent. One hundred flies were used per array. Total RNA was extracted once, treated with DNaseI, and extracted again. This was supplied to a core facility for hybridization to Affymetrix GeneCHIP Drosophila 2.0
