Mycoplasma feriruminatoris is phylogenetically closely related to members of the 'Mycoplasma mycoides cluster'. We sequenced the genome of the Swiss strain IVB14/OD_0535 isolated from an Alpine ibex. With its outstanding properties, including short doubling time, easy cultivation and genetically amenable, M. feriruminatoris hold great promises for biotechnological and industrial applications.
