Study: Comparative Transcriptomics of Circadian Gene Expression in Vector Mosquito, Aedes albopictus and Culex quinquefasciatus
show Abstracthide Abstract
This project investigates the circadian patterns of gene expression in two important disease vector mosquitoes: Aedes albopictus (Asian tiger mosquito) and Culex quinquefasciatus (southern house mosquito). Using high-throughput sequencing technology, we analyzed the transcriptomes of these species at multiple time points over a 24-hour cycle. Our study aims to elucidate the circadian regulatory mechanisms governing mosquito physiology, potentially informing the development of novel vector control strategies. The dataset comprises RNA-Seq results from both mosquito species across several time points, providing a valuable resource for further investigation into mosquito clock genes and their regulatory networks. This research contributes to our understanding of vector biology and may have implications for managing mosquito-borne diseases.
