Title Tlr7 mediates tissue-specific disease manifestations in primary Sjogren’s disease in a sex-biased manner
Platform organism Mus
Sample organisms Mus musculus; synthetic construct
Experiment type Protein profiling by protein array
Summary The goal of this study was to determine whether male and female mice with primary Sjogren's disease (pSD) displayed differences in autoreactive IgM and IgG in sera. We also sought to determine whether this reactivity was dependent on the expression of Tlr7.

Overall design We analyzed sera from female and male NOD.B10H2b (NOD.B10) mice, referred to as NOD in the dataset. We also collected sera from age and sex-matched NOD.B10 Tlr7+/- females (Het), and NOD.B10 Tlr7-/- females (KO) that lacked Tlr7 expression systemically. Finally, we harvested sera from NOD.B10 Tlr7-/y males that lacked systemic expression of Tlr7 (KO). All animals were at aged to the clinical disease stage (6 - 7 months old). IgM and IgG autoantigen arrays were performed on 6 animals from each group.
