For heat treatment 4 d-old seedlings were exposed to 37°C for 1 h, 23°C for 90 min and 44°C for 45 min. After the indicated recovery times (4h, 28h, 52h) samples were harvested by flash-freezing.

Extraction protocol |
Total RNA was extracted with RNeasy Plant Mini kit (Qiagen) and on-column DNase digest of RNA performed with RNase-Free DNase (Qiagen). RNA quality control, library preparation, and sequencing were performed by BGI Genomics with the DNBseq platform generating 2x150 bp paired-end sequencing reads.

Paired-end reads for each sample were mapped against the Arabidopsis thaliana reference genome (TAIR10) using STAR version 2.5.1a. Quantification at gene level was also done using STAR, --quantMode GeneCounts option. Genome_build: TAIR10 Supplementary_files_format_and_content: Raw gene read counts for each sample.
