The SAM (Significant Analysis of Microarray) software was applied to identify differentially regulated genes (DRGs) between samples using the two classes unpaired method based on the empirical criterion of more than two-fold change and significant q value (FDR adjusted P value) less than 0.05. A list of known or unknown genes was generated by performing a BLASTn search (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/blast/Blast.cgi) from the Affymetrix website
