Definition

A benign or malignant neoplasm of the brain, spinal cord, or meninges occurring in adults. Representative examples of primary neoplasms include astrocytoma, meningioma, pituitary adenoma, and neurilemoma. Representative examples of tumor metastases from other organs to the central nervous system include lung and breast carcinoma. [from NCI]
